Should surgeons have a mandatory retirement age?

YES! I think that surgeons over the age of 65 shouldn't be allowed to practice any longer. Studies have shown that the percentage of older individuals operating has a much higher death rate compared to an individual half his age. I don't think the size of the caseload has a baring on whether a person is capable of doing surgey or not, because you either have it or you don't. Besides, if a surgeon has been practicing that long they deserve to retire at age 65.
